Permits (Arunachal): Indian travellers need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Arunachal Pradesh — we arrange it; carry your photo ID and passport-size photos. Assam and Meghalaya need no permit.
Altitude: Tawang sits at about 3,000m and is reached over the 4,170m Sela Pass. We break the ascent (Bomdila/Dirang) to acclimatise and keep the pace gentle.
Long Drives: North-East distances are long on winding mountain roads (Tezpur–Tawang is a full day). Expect scenic but lengthy travel days; we plan realistic timings.
Best Time: October–April for clear mountain views; Sela Pass can see snow in winter, and the high roads are weather-dependent.

It is the most complete North-East itinerary we run - three states in 14 days, adding the unique river island of Majuli to the classic Meghalaya-Kaziranga-Tawang triangle, plus a buffer day. It leaves almost nothing out.
Majuli, on the Brahmaputra, is the world's largest river island and the heart of Assamese Vaishnavite (satra) culture, famous for its monasteries, mask-making and dance. Reached by ferry, it adds a serene, cultural dimension to the trip.
You need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Arunachal Pradesh, which we arrange - carry photo ID and passport photos. Assam (including Majuli and Kaziranga) and Meghalaya need no permit. Some high spots near Tawang need extra local permits.
We spread the driving across 14 days with overnight stops, include a Dirang acclimatisation night before the 4,170m Sela Pass, and add a Guwahati buffer day. This keeps the pace humane and guards against mountain-road delays.
October to April - Kaziranga is open (November to April), Meghalaya and Majuli are pleasant, and the Arunachal roads are generally passable. Winter offers snow at Sela Pass but can bring occasional closures.
There is no trekking, but it involves long mountain drives, a ferry to Majuli and high altitude at Sela/Tawang, so reasonable fitness and stamina for travel days are important. The relaxed pacing helps considerably.
Yes - we can drop Majuli or a Tawang night to shorten it, or add days (e.g., more Meghalaya, or Ziro/Dirang valleys). Tell us your interests and time and we will tailor the grand tour.
Kaziranga operates roughly November to April and closes for the monsoon. We schedule this tour within the open season; if you travel at the very edges of the season, we confirm park status and adjust if needed.
