How to Reach Kashmir
✈️ By Air
Fly into Srinagar (SXR) from Delhi and other metros — the quickest way in, and where most of our trips begin.
🚆 By Train
The nearest major railhead is Jammu Tawi; from there it's a scenic drive up to Srinagar, or a short connecting flight.
🚗 By Road
Srinagar is well connected by the NH-44 highway via Jammu. Local sightseeing is by comfortable private vehicle.
It depends on what you want. Late March–April is Tulip Garden and blossom season; June–September is warm and green, ideal for Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg; December–February brings snow and skiing in Gulmarg. Kashmir is genuinely a year-round destination.

The Srinagar Tulip Garden usually opens for a few weeks from late March into April (exact dates vary each year with the bloom). Our Tulip Festival Special is timed for this window — book early as it's a short, popular season.
Kashmiri houseboats are beautifully carved wooden boats moored on Dal Lake, with cosy rooms, a lounge and a deck over the water. It's a signature Kashmir experience — waking up to shikaras gliding past your window. We include it on several packages.
No special permit is needed for the main Kashmir circuit — just carry a valid government photo ID. For the Amarnath yatra, a registration/medical certificate is required, which we help arrange.
Most travellers find 5-6 days ideal: two in Srinagar for Dal Lake, the Mughal gardens and the Old City, plus a night each in Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. A quick 3-4 day getaway covers Srinagar and one hill station, while adding the Tulip Garden, Doodhpatri or a slower pace is worth a couple of extra days.
Our packages typically cover accommodation (hotels and/or a Dal Lake houseboat), daily breakfast and dinner, all sightseeing and transfers by private vehicle, and a local trip captain. Airfare, the Gulmarg Gondola tickets, pony rides and the union taxis at hill stations are usually extra, and we spell out exactly what is and isn't included before you book.
Postpaid SIMs from all major Indian operators work across the Kashmir tourist circuit, but prepaid SIMs issued outside J&K often do not. If you only have a prepaid number, carry a postpaid one or let us know in advance. Wi-Fi is available at most hotels and many houseboats for staying in touch.
