Why Travel to Jammu

Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu & Kashmir and the gateway to the Vaishno Devi shrine, is a land of faith and mountains. Millions make the yatra up the Trikuta hills to the holy cave of Mata Vaishno Devi each year, while nearby lie the Shivkhori cave, the cool pine hill station of Patnitop, and Jammu city's famous Raghunath and Ranbireshwar temples. Yatraved runs comfortable Jammu trips with RFID yatra registration, verified stays, private transfers and a team on hand throughout.

Jammu Tour FAQs

Yes - a free RFID registration/yatra slip from the Shrine Board is mandatory before darshan. We arrange it for you at Katra or online, so there is no hassle on arrival.
Fly into Jammu (IXJ) or take a train to Jammu Tawi or Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) station. Katra, the base for the yatra, is a short drive from Jammu. We handle all transfers.
Absolutely - ponies, palki, battery cars and a helicopter (Katra to Sanjichhat) make the darshan possible for seniors and those who cannot trek the 12 km climb. We help arrange them.
A Vaishno Devi darshan can be done in 2-3 days. Add Shivkhori, Patnitop or the Jammu city temples for a 4-5 day trip. We tailor the length to your plan.
We run the Vaishno Devi Yatra (by trek or helicopter), Vaishno Devi with Shivkhori or Patnitop, the Patnitop-Sanasar-Nathatop hill escape, and the Jammu city temple tour - covering both pilgrimage and hill holidays.
No special permit is needed for Indian travellers in the Jammu region - just a valid photo ID (which is also used for the Vaishno Devi registration).
March to October is pleasant for the yatra; Navratri is the busiest and most vibrant. The Patnitop hills are green March to June and snowy December to February.
Yes - popular combinations include Vaishno Devi with the Patnitop hill station, or with the sacred Shivkhori cave. We offer ready-made combined tours and can customise further.
