Important Notes

Please read before booking

🌿

Best Time: October–May is ideal, with clear skies and pleasant weather. June–September is the monsoon — Cherrapunji and Mawsynram are the wettest places on earth — when waterfalls are at their fullest but rain is heavy.

✈️

How to Reach: Fly into Guwahati (Assam), the gateway to the North East; Shillong is about a 3-hour scenic drive. Shillong also has a small airport at Umroi. We handle all transfers.

🌂

Weather: Carry rain protection year-round — showers can pop up even outside the monsoon. Mornings are best for boating and waterfalls before clouds build.

💰

Money & Network: ATMs are reliable in Shillong and Guwahati; carry cash for villages, boats and entry fees. Mobile network is patchy in remote valleys.

There are a few longer drives (Guwahati-Kaziranga, Kaziranga-Shillong), as North-East distances are significant. We plan realistic timings, start early, and break the journeys with stops.

No special travel permit is needed for Assam or Meghalaya - just a photo ID. Kaziranga's park and safari permits are arranged by us. (Only Arunachal Pradesh needs an Inner Line Permit, which is not part of this tour.)

November to April, when Kaziranga is open, Meghalaya's weather is clear, and the Dawki river is at its clearest. The monsoon closes Kaziranga and brings very heavy rain to Meghalaya.

Yes - the mix of safaris, temples, waterfalls and boat rides suits all ages, and the pace is comfortable. We can adjust the longer drives and add rest for seniors.
