Day-by-Day Itinerary
Three days from Katra to the Bhawan
- Arrive at Jammu/Katra; transfer to your hotel.
- Complete the RFID yatra registration; rest for the climb.
- Begin the ~12 km trek from Banganga (walk / pony / palki / battery car / helicopter).
- Darshan at the Bhawan; optional Bhairavnath temple.
- Return to Katra by evening.
- After breakfast, transfer to Jammu/Katra station or airport.
- Yatra complete - Jai Mata Di!

Yatra Registration: The Vaishno Devi yatra needs a free RFID registration/yatra slip from the Shrine Board (at Katra or online). We arrange it and guide you through the process.
The Trek: It is about 12–13 km from Katra to the Bhawan. You can walk, or take a pony, palki, battery car or helicopter (Katra–Sanjichhat) for most of the climb.
Best Time: March–October is pleasant; the Navratri period is the busiest. Winters are cold with occasional snow near the top.
How to Reach: Fly to Jammu (IXJ) or take the train to Katra (SVDK); it is a short drive to the base. We handle all transfers.

Yes - a helicopter runs between Katra and Sanjichhat (near the Bhawan), cutting most of the climb. It is weather-dependent and popular, so we book it in advance where possible. See our Vaishno Devi by helicopter package.
