Important Notes
Please read before booking
Best Time: March–June is pleasant and green; December–February brings snow to Shimla, Manali and Kufri; July–September sees monsoon showers and occasional landslides.
How to Reach: The trip is by road in a private vehicle. Most itineraries start from Chandigarh or Delhi; the nearest airports are Chandigarh, Kullu (Bhuntar) and Gaggal (Dharamshala).
Hill Roads: Himachal''s mountain roads are winding and slower than plains. We plan realistic drive times and use experienced local drivers.
Money & Network: Carry some cash for smaller towns; ATMs are in main towns. Mobile network is good in cities and patchy in remote valleys.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you book
Tirthan is a peaceful, offbeat valley on the edge of the UNESCO-listed Great Himalayan National Park, known for its clear trout-filled river, riverside homestays, forest walks and a refreshing lack of crowds.
Yes - you can walk into the buffer/eco-zone and, with permits and a guide, do longer treks into the core park. This trip includes an easy nature walk; deeper treks can be arranged on request.
Jibhi offers the Jibhi waterfall, a forest pool nicknamed mini-Thailand, the ancient Chehni Kothi tower, charming wooden guesthouses and easy walks - a cosy, photogenic mountain hamlet.
Jalori Pass sits at about 3,120m. From there, the walk to Serolsar lake is an easy-to-moderate 5 km forest trail (about 1.5 hours each way), suitable for most with basic fitness.
Yes - the Tirthan river is famous for trout, and fishing can be arranged (with a permit) in season. Some homestays also offer freshly cooked trout meals.
It is reached via the Aut tunnel on the Mandi-Kullu highway, about 1.5-2 hours from Kullu-Bhuntar airport, or by road/Volvo from Delhi to Aut and then a short drive. We arrange the transfer.
Perfectly - Tirthan and Jibhi are quiet, green and have limited network in places, making them ideal for slowing down, reading and reconnecting with nature.
March to June and September to November are ideal, with pleasant weather and open trails. Jalori Pass can close with winter snow, and monsoon brings lush greenery but slippery paths.
