Local taxis & ponies: At Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg, local union taxis and ponies are mandatory for the inner points (meadows, valleys). These are paid directly on the spot and are not part of the package.
Flights: The price is a land package. Fly into Srinagar (SXR) — we can add return flights from your city on request.
Weather: Mountain weather changes quickly and higher spots like Gulmarg and Sonamarg stay cool even in summer — carry warm layers year-round. Snow can affect road access in peak winter.
ID: Carry a valid government photo ID for hotels and houseboats. No special permit is needed for the main Kashmir tourist circuit.

Everything you need to know before you book
Sonamarg, the "meadow of gold", is famous for the Thajiwas glacier — reached by pony or a short walk — and its dramatic mountain scenery. It's one of Kashmir's best day trips.
It's best from April to October. The road over the Zoji La can close with heavy winter snow, so this particular trip runs mainly in the warmer months.
This trip focuses on the glacier-and-valley side of Kashmir — Sonamarg and Pahalgam. If you'd like Gulmarg as well, our 6 to 7-day tours cover all of it.
About 80 km, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours each way from Srinagar. It's a scenic full-day trip, so we start early.
Ponies and local taxis to the Thajiwas glacier are arranged on the spot at fixed union rates and are not part of the package price.
