About this Island Explorer

The best of Bali, plus a barefoot island escape

This trip pairs Bali's greatest hits with the castaway calm of the Gili Islands. You start in the beachy south, head up to arty Ubud and its rice terraces, then take a fast boat across to Gili Trawangan — a car-free island of white sand, turquoise water and sea turtles.

We handle the transfers, the fast-boat crossing both ways, your stays and a snorkelling trip around the Gilis. The islands have no cars or motorbikes — you get around on foot, by bicycle or by pony cart, and the pace is gloriously slow.

Perfect for couples and friends who want culture, beaches and proper island time in one trip.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Seven days from South Bali to the Gili Islands

  • Arrive at Denpasar, meet our team and transfer to your Seminyak hotel.
  • Settle in and head out for sunset at a Seminyak beach club.
  • Overnight in South Bali.
💡 Pro Tip: Grab a local eSIM at the airport — handy for ride apps and maps across Bali.
  • Morning free for the beach or pool.
  • Afternoon at Uluwatu Temple for the Kecak fire dance and clifftop views.
  • Sunset at Tanah Lot, the temple on a sea rock; overnight in South Bali.
🌟 Note: Both temples require a sarong (provided at entry) — wear something you can move in for the cliff steps.
  • Drive to Ubud, stopping at the Tegalalang rice terraces.
  • Explore the Ubud art market, palace and the Monkey Forest.
  • Evening at leisure among Ubud's cafés; overnight in Ubud.
💡 Pro Tip: Ubud is the place to shop for handicrafts and art — better quality and prices than the beach towns.
  • Drive to Kintamani for views of Mount Batur across the caldera lake, with a coffee-plantation tasting.
  • Cool off at the Tegenungan (or Tibumana) waterfall.
  • Return to Ubud for the evening; overnight in Ubud.
🌟 Note: Pack the Gili essentials in a smaller bag tonight — tomorrow it's a boat, so travel light to the islands.
  • Transfer to Bali's east coast and board the fast boat to Gili Trawangan.
  • Check in and settle into island pace — no cars, just bicycles and pony carts.
  • Sunset from the island's west side, looking back at Bali's Mount Agung; overnight on Gili Trawangan.
💡 Pro Tip: Carry motion-sickness tablets for the crossing, and keep electronics in a dry bag — boarding can be splashy.
  • A guided snorkelling trip around the three Gilis — turtle points, coral gardens and a floating swing.
  • Free afternoon to cycle the island, laze on the beach or hop to quiet Gili Meno.
  • Final island sunset; overnight on Gili Trawangan.
🌟 Note: The Gilis are turtle sanctuaries — look, don't touch, and keep reef-safe sunscreen on.
  • Morning fast boat back to Bali and transfer to Denpasar airport.
  • Trip concludes — two islands, one brilliant week.
💡 Pro Tip: Allow a comfortable gap between the boat and your flight — seas and schedules can shift.
